In 2014 I took a 20 days for myself and holed up in New York to write an album inspired by the city. The challenge was to finish a piece of music everyday. I did 10 track in 10 days. My day started at 5am as the jet-lag from London still lingered. I might go out for a run around East Village where i was for the first few days, then get the coffee on and watch a little morning TV. Then I play in a little bass line and few riffs on the keyboard then go out with the laptop and find a place to sit for 3 hours until a track was made. Then I'd get it up on soundcloud and shared on Facebook. And then i could go and savour the city. I made this album in various coffee shops in East Village, Bushwick, Murray Hill, NoHo, Chelsea, Bedford-Stuyvesant, The Bowery, Fulton street and mostly curtesy of the David Rubenstein Atrium at The Lincoln Center on Broadway.
This album is my dedication to a very special city. To me, a version of my own city, London.
